Cape Ann will come together to honor one of our local heroes, Sinikka Nogelo, on Thursday, May 6 at 5:30 p.m. at Cruiseport Gloucester. For over 25 years, Sinikka has been the heart and soul-and face-of local-access television on Cape Ann, from her weekly "Cape Ann Reports" to coordinating civic, cultural and sports programming for the four communities of Cape Ann.

In May Sinikka will retire from Cape Ann TV, and friends and colleagues are organizing a tribute that will include a special edition of "Cape Ann Retort," a short auction to raise funds for Cape Ann TV, and personal remembrances of Sinikka. The social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner by Vinwood Catering at 6:30 p.m. and the program at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for this gala tribute are $45 per person; tables of 10 may be reserved for $450. Reservations can be made by check to "Cape Ann TV", 38 Blackburn Center, Gloucester, MA 01930. Reserve your seat by April 25th. A number of patron levels are also available for those who might wish to sponsor the evening: Platinum - $1,000; Gold - $750; Silver - $500; and Bronze - $250.
