You Call the Shots!

Q. How many people does it take to produce a three-camera shoot at Gloucester City Hall?

A. One volunteer!

The City of Gloucester has purchased and installed a complete studio at City Hall for live three-camera shoots for municipal meetings. The director sits at a table with an audio board and a robotic joy stick unit that controls the camera shots.

If you want to be the director, Cape Ann TV will teach you all you need to know. Please contact us using our form or call Lisa at 978-281-2443.

Internship Opportunity

Accepted interns will have the opportunity to accomplish these tasks:
  • Serve as a crew member on studio productions at Cape Ann TV;
  • Cover field production assignments with a professional digital camcorder
  • edit using Final Cut Pro;
  • Videotape sports events and special community events;
  • Learn to operate the three-camera robotic system for live meeting coverage at Gloucester City Hall;
  • Produce public service announcements, promos, and programs from inception to completion
  • Write, edit and enter community bulletin board announcements; and
  • Perform tasks related to the general operations of our community television station.

The time commitment, hours and duties will be discussed with and approved by the Executive Director prior to the start of the internship. Internships are voluntary but the experience is priceless. A car may be required for local travel to some of the various events. When work is assigned at the studio or City Hall, public transportation is available through the MBTA train (Gloucester station) and CATA bus or train to walk. (City Hall is near the train station; the studio is approximately two miles from the train station.) Please call Donna at (978) 281-2443 for more information.
